Boat Tours on the Cuyahoga River

Located in northeast Ohio, the Cuyahoga River begins the 100-mile journey in Geauga County and ends in Lake Erie. Known to the Native Americans as the "Crooked River," the Cuyahoga flows to the south to Cuyahoga Falls before turning sharply north and draining into the lake.

The lower part of the river was a dumping ground for toxic waste, sewage, debris, oil and sludge since 1936. In 1969, the river caught fire, riveted the nation and sparked a flood of pollution-control procedures. In the past 35 years, the river has made a tremendous turnaround with respect to the fish and wildlife populations along the river. Next time you are in the area, check out how a little care can transform a region.

Enjoy the skyline of Cleveland and listen as Larry Morrow describes the sights and describes the history of the area.
