The Carnival Inspiration set sail on her maiden voyage on March 22, 1996. It was constructed at the Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland, and delivered to Carnival, which put in to service in April of that same year. The Carnival Inspiration cost approximately $270 million to construct.
The Carnival Inspiration sails passengers from Tampa, FL, to the Grand Caymans and Cozumel, Mexico. The Inspiration runs on either a 4- or 5-day voyage depending on the package chosen.
The Carnival Inspiration has 618 outdoor rooms, 408 indoor rooms, 14 elevators, 10 passenger decks, four restaurants and three swimming pools. There are two formal dining rooms that offer several seating times throughout the evening.
The Carnival Inspiration is a fantasy-class vessel measuring 859 feet long and weighing approximately 70,367 tons. It is propelled by two blade propellers and can reach a maximum speed of 21 knots. It has a maximum capacity of 2,634 passengers and generally sails with 920 crew members.
The Inspiration is registered out of Panama City, Panama. It was registered in Nassau, Bahamas, until 2000. The Inspiration is currently being used to service the West Caribbean.
