How to Wire RV Batteries

RVs use several batteries. They supply power to the coach and another for the engine. The starting battery is made to provide high amperage discharges for short periods. Deep cycle batteries are made for the low-amperage discharging these are used on furnaces, lights and entertainment items. The amount of wattage being used in the coach of you RV requires more than one battery to be used Hooking more than one battery together can be done in tow different ways either parallel or in a series.

Instructions

      Connect the batteries parallel to each other.

      Connect the positive posts together using a battery cable with battery clamps on both ends.

    • 3

      Connect the negative posts together using a battery cable with battery clamps on both ends.

    • 4

      Connect where one negative cable from a battery is connected to the positive of the other.

    • 5

      Check that the other two cables are connected to the load.
