Instructions

  1. Remodel and customize RV trailers

    • 1
A tape measure will be needed for the windows.

Use a tape measure to measure all of the windows in the RV trailer. The correct way to measure the windows is down the center vertically and then along each side of the inside of the window. Take the same measurements horizontally. Use the largest of the vertical and horizontal measurements to order custom blinds for the windows. For a high-end touch, install automatic blinds that work by remote control or voice command.

    • 2
Colorful blinds add to the interior decor.

Install the blinds according to the manufacturer's directions and add hardware to the top of the window, and maybe at the bottom, depending on the type of blind chosen. The blinds come with the correct hardware. A screwdriver or cordless drill is needed to attach the hardware to the window area.

    • 3

Remove the old linoleum flooring pulling it up. A floor scraper will make this easier. Work from inside the trailer toward the door. Once the old flooring is removed, prepare the surface for the new floor by vacuuming up all debris.

    • 4
A tape measure is needed for the flooring.

Measure the floor lengthwise and widthwise. Multiply these two numbers to get the area of the floor. Use the area measurement to purchase peel and stick floor tile.

    • 5

Mark the center of the floor area with a chalk line. Mark the horizontal and vertical center. Install the peel and stick tile starting with the four center tiles and work out towards the edges. Use a tile cutter to cut the peel and stick tile to fit into spaces too large for a full tile. Allow the tile to sit for 24 hours before walking on it.

    • 6
Replace the old mattresses with new ones.

Replace all foam mattresses with new mattresses made specifically for RVs and RV trailers. This upgrade is well worth the extra money.

Discard the old foam mattresses according to state and local laws.

Count the number of draw pulls in your RV trailer. Order custom drawer pulls to replace the old ones. Use a screwdriver or cordless drill to remove the old pulls and install the new ones. Remove the screw located on the inside of the drawer. Install the new drawer pull by replacing the screw on the inside of the drawer.

Count the cabinet knobs in the RV. Order the same number of custom cabinet knobs. These should match the new drawer pulls. Use a cordless drill or screwdriver to remove the old knobs and install the new ones. Do this by removing the screw located on the inside of the cabinet. Install the new knobs by replacing the screw on the inside of the cabinet.

New cushions brighten a drab interior.

Measure the length, width and depth of all cushions. Order replacement cushions from a reputable RV dealer and discard the old ones.
