RV Parks Near Decatur, Alabama

Decatur, Alabama, located on the banks of the Tennessee River, has a rich and storied past with a promising future, thanks to its selection by such industrial giants as 3M, Boeing, Daikin America and Nucor Steel as a site for manufacturing plants.     • This 56-site campground, operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), is open from mid-March through mid-November and offers water/electric hookups at all sites. The campground, about 12 miles from downtown Decatur, is convenient to other TVA recreational amenities, including hiking trails, lake fishing and swimming, and picnic areas. Onsite facilities include a dump station, picnic tables and grills.

    Mill Creek RV Park

    • Located in Elkmont, Alabama, 34 miles from Decatur, this park offers 20 pull-through sites with full hookups, all of which can accommodate rigs of any size. Other campground amenities include a large, screened pavilion with kitchen facilities and wireless Internet access. The campground is adjacent to about 200 wooded acres adjoining the creek and is perfect for hiking and bird watching.

    Point Mallard Camp Ground

    • Part of an outdoor recreation complex featuring a water park and golf course, this Decatur campground boasts 217 sites with full hookups; 25 sites are pull-throughs. Open year round, the campground is located on a 25-acre wooded site and is within walking distance of Point Mallard's many attractions, including the water park, golf course, tennis courts and ice rink.
