Spend time researching motor homes by going to new and used dealer lots to check out floor plans and features. You can also research on the Internet to learn about various classes of motor homes and the hundreds of options and features available.
Rent before you buy. If you have never driven a motor home before, rent one for a week or two to get an idea of what you want or don't want in one you plan to buy.
Request as many vehicle history records as you can: from the owner, the dealer or have a CarFax report pulled.
Get a mechanic to inspect the vehicle before you put down cash. Have the roof, windows and water tanks checked for leaks. Inspect all electrical systems, appliances, generator and air-conditioner appraised for condition and wear.
