- In 1930, a passenger plane made an emergency landing in the Champ de Mars park, near the Eiffel Tower. The plane was carrying four people, who all survived. This was not a direct hit, but the plane did come close to the tower.
- In 2008, a small private plane crashed near the Eiffel Tower, killing the pilot. The plane had been flying at a low altitude when it crashed into the Seine River, not far from the tower. This was also a close call, but not a direct hit.
