The Sunset Dinner and Music 28-mile trip departs from Woodland at 2:30 p.m. and lasts three to four hours. Its primary features include the Woodland scenery at sunset and live rhythm and blues music and dancing in the Club Car. Wine and beer are available in the dining cars, the Club Car and three open-air cars. The three-course dinner itself features a small salad, a choice of tri-tip steak, chicken Mediterranean, and cheese tortellini, with chef's choice of dessert for dinner. Ticket prices vary depending on which entree and extras you choose, which include a bottle of champagne and "premium" seating.
The Great Train Robbery trip is the Sacramento RiverTrain's most popular attraction, featuring a Western show during which various Old West characters entertain guests. Highlights include a staged old-fashioned Wild West-style gunfight and a picnic-style barbecue lunch on the banks of the Sacramento River. The total length of the trip is about three and a half hours.
The Sacramento RiverTrain also offers seasonally-themed trips. On February 13th and 14th, it offers a Valentine's Day dinner trip. In April, there's an Easter Egg trip with an easter egg hunt and a picnic lunch and a Mother's Day brunch trip. In the summer, the company has a Sunset Dinner trip featuring the Larry James Band and a Fathers Day Lunch Special trip. October through December, it stages a Pumpkin Train trip to a pumpkin patch excursion, as well as Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas-themed trips, with a New Year's Eve trip rounding out the end of December.
