Why are railway stations built on a curve?

Railway stations are not typically built on curves. In fact, it is generally preferable to build railway stations on straight sections of track, as curves can cause trains to slow down and increase the risk of accidents.

There are a few cases where railway stations may be built on curves, such as when there is a lack of available land or when the station is located in a particularly mountainous or hilly area. However, even in these cases, engineers will typically try to minimize the degree of curvature in the track.
