Go to www.autotransportbyrail.com/index.htm. Click on the free quote tab to get a quote through email. It takes about 12 to 24 hours for an email response. If you wish to receive a quote over the phone, call 866-513-RAIL.
Place your order at least 10 days before your requested pick up date. If you wish to place an order 1 to 3 days before transporting your car, you can skip the pick up completely and drop off your car at the company's nearest rail terminal.
Click on "Forms." Fill out the two required forms. You must print out and read the Shipping Agreement and the Order form. Fill out the order form and mail it to Auto Transport By Rail. You may also fax it.
Visit Amtrak.com. Under "Other Options", click on "Auto Train Tickets". Select your destination and origin. Select your departure date and the number of tickets you need. Click on the "Next" button. You may chose a departure date as soon as the next day.
Select your vehicle type. Amtrak offers transport services for regular vehicles, oversize vehicles and motorcycles. Pay for your ticket online using Visa or Mastercard. Meals are included in all Auto Train Tickets.
On the day of your departure, arrive one hour in advance to load your regular vehicle. Motorcycles or oversize vehicles must come two hours in advance. Amtrak begins loading vehicles at 11:30 a.m. Oversized vehicles must arrive before 2 p.m. regular vehicles before 3 p.m.
