One way to see fall foliage in Tennessee is on a passenger train that has been restored from the 1950s. In addition to offering the sights of the Tennessee landscape, the Dixie Land also offers a sit-down lunch aboard the 'Autumn Leaf Specials'. The excursions run during October and November and go on a historical route from Grand Junction Station in Tennessee, across state lines to Chickamauga, Ga. In addition to the layover in Georgia, guests will also have an opportunity to explore Wilder Tower in the Chickamauga National Military Park, a battlefield from the Civil War. Guests not only view fall foliage, but learn bits of history along the route at Civil War historical points of interest.
