Look up for the stations. The Mandalay Bay tram is an elevated train, so you'll have to ride an escalator or climb stairs to reach it. The Excalibur station is at the front of the property. If you walk on the street overpasses from MGM Grand, Tropicana, or New York, New York, there's no need to even enter the Excalibur casino. Follow the signs that lead right up to the Excalibur station. The Luxor station is outside the hotel, directly in front of the Sphinx. The Mandalay Bay station is easily found at the edge of the casino, up the escalators and around a corner to where the trains board.
Find the right platform. There are two lines of the Mandalay Bay tram. One is a southbound express from the Excalibur directly to the Mandalay. The northbound tram starts at the Mandalay, stops at the Luxor, and ends at the Excalibur. The trains generally only go in one direction, but if repairs are being done on one line, the remaining tram may transport passengers in both directions. Follow the signs and be sure you're on the right platform.
Move to the front. The stations can get crowded on weekends and holidays, and there are no attendants, so it's often a mad scramble to get onto the tram when it arrives. There are separate doors for each car of the tram, so don't hang back at the end of the platform and cause a traffic jam. Move forward to the farthest door and let people fill in behind you. When the tram arrives, the doors open and each group can file into the car in front of them.
Make room for other passengers. The tram cars are smaller than the Las Vegas monorail cars, so you'll have to move quickly to get a seat. Sit on an end rather than the middle to let people easily fill in the other spaces. Give up your seat to elderly or disabled passengers. If there are no seats available, stand near a handrail. Don't overfill the car. If there isn't room to stand comfortably, wait for the next tram. They arrive every 3-7 minutes, depending on the station.
Follow the signs to the exit. The stations are small, so it should be easy to find your way out. Exiting at the Excalibur station, you can choose the Excalibur entrance at the left or travel the walkways at the right to the overpasses for New York, New York, MGM Grand or the Tropicana. Inside the casinos, follow the signs or ask casino staff for help if you're trying to reach a particular attraction or restaurant. A wrong turn can lead to blocks of extra walking.
