What is the Size of 3 Place Enclosed Snowmobile Trailers?

Removable covers can be purchased to fit most sizes of trailer beds, however the term "enclosed snowmobile trailer" refers to a trailer on which an enclosed box has been permanently mounted to the trailer frame. Many snowmobile enthusiasts use the trailer box as a dressing room while at races or other events, so if the box is designed with a low profile that would prohibit a person from standing inside, the trailer is referred to as a crossover trailer, not an enclosed trailer.
  1. Height

    • Enclosed snowmobile trailers are manufactured in heights of 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 feet. This measurement specifies the exterior dimensions of the box. The total height of the trailer varies based on the size of the tires and frame. Most enclosed, three-place snowmobile trailers stand over 8 feet tall.

    Width

    • The exterior width of the box on a three-place, enclosed snowmobile trailer ranges from 7 to 8 1/2 feet. For all dimensions, the interior size of the box is 2 to 3 inches less than the outside.

    Length

    • For three-place trailers with a width of 7 or 7 1/2 feet, the box is usually 18 feet long. For trailers with an 8 1/2-foot width, the box length is 14 feet. Enclosed snowmobile trailers also have a v-nose hitch, which can add as much as 6 feet to the overall length. Although the v-nose is not included when stating the length of the box, many models enclose it along with the box to create extra storage capacity.
