Open the MYOB AccountRight Payroll software. If you currently do not have the MYOB AccountRight Payroll software, several options are available ranging in price from $800 to $4300. AccountRight Plus software is good for small businesses with only one person accessing the payroll data; AccountRight Premier allows multiple users into the payroll database; and AccountRight Enterprise enables you to access the database remotely. Each of these programs uses the same steps to record mileage.
Click on "Payroll" from the menu bar, and then go to the "Payroll Categories."
Click on the "Wages" tab, and then click "New." The "New" button is located at the bottom of the screen.
Change the wages name to "Mileage." Set the payment type to "Hourly," as this way the amount will change each time, depending on the number of miles.
Change the "Hourly Rate" to the amount the company has agreed to pay (for example, 89 cents per mile). Leanne Berry, MYOB's Certified Consultant Director, suggests that you may also want to overwrite the wages expense account with a mileage/travel expense code.
Click on the name of the employee that the mileage expense applies to.
