Rear Door Options in an Enclosed Featherlite Trailer

Aluminum Featherlite trailers are available in a variety of types, including those that are fully enclosed to protect your cargo. Recreational trailers haul snowmobiles, motorcycles, ATVs and cars. Enclosed utility trailers haul whatever else you need to get from point A to point B. They all come standard with a particular type of rear door along with another option on some models.
  1. Recreational

    • Featherlite's recreational trailers for snowmobiles and motorcycles come equipped with ramps with cables that assist in opening and closing the ramps. The snowmobile trailer model 1648 also comes with a drip rail. The trailer set up as an ice fishing house has a ramp but does not have the assist cables. With its hydraulic axles, the body of the ice fishing trailer lowers automatically to rest flush with the ice. The ATV trailer models 1610 and 1611 ATV come with rear double doors with single pipe hardware and an optional ramp. Model 1610V ATV has a cable-assisted ramp in the back and front.

    Utility

    • Utility trailer models 1610 and 1611 come standard with double rear doors with single pipe hardware; a ramp and side door are optional. The small Mod Pod trailer is different from the rest because of its flip-top roof that's standard along with a ramp. The whole top of the trailer lifts up so you can stand without hunching over while loading or unloading the trailer.

    Cars

    • Trailer models 4926 and 4928, made to haul cars, have full height and width rear ramps with cable-assist, pressure latches and vinyl hinge covers. A front ramp is optional on model 4926.

    Horses

    • Featherlite has several horse trailers that, although not your conventional enclosed trailer, could be considered enclosed when the windows are shut. A horse trailer with no center post like model 9409 could easily double as a trailer for your tractor or ATV. Featherlite's horse trailers come standard with either a full swing rear door, double doors with windows or a flip-up door, which is on model 9405. Some trailers come standard with a ramp while a ramp is optional on others. Model 8414 has a lockable slider on its full rear door to hold the door open while you load or unload.
