Install four bike anchor points to the four corners of the truck bed. Use screw-on anchors to avoid drilling through the truck walls themselves. Tighten the anchors as much as possible with your hands, but do not use any tools to tighten them.
Lay old blankets on the bottom of the truck bed if it is metal to prevent the bed of the truck from scratching the metal of the bike or to prevent the bike from scratching the truck bed or liner.
Turn the bike upside down and lay it over the blanket. Remove the bike's front wheel with a wrench to prevent the theft of the bike. Place the wheel inside the truck cab.
Attach one tie-down to each side of the handle bars or the bike frame. Attach two more tie-downs to the back wheel.
Attach the ends of the tie-downs to the anchors along the side of the truck walls.
Tighten the tie-downs, using the built-in tightening system that comes with the tie-downs by pulling on the loose end of the rope attached to a pulley in the middle of the tie-down. Make sure each tie-down is equally tight so that the bike cannot move or tip, even when pushed. Allow the bike to sit on the handlebars upright in the middle of the truck bed.
