Trailer Camping in Ontario

Ontario is a camper's paradise due to the large amount of acreage set aside in provincial parks and natural attractions. Trailer campers can have their pick of beautiful settings because there are no mountain roads to negotiate so you can camp in almost every campground across the province. Paved roads penetrate remote campgrounds allowing you the opportunity of a wilderness trailer camping experience.
  1. Algonquin Provincial Park, Whitney

    • Canada's provincial parks are plentiful in Ontario. Algonquin is a massive park with easy public access to a small section. Explore the interior of the park by foot or canoe. Algonquin has thousands of lakes. You can camp and portage between them, or pull your trailer into one of the campgrounds along Parkway Corridor (Highway 60) and do hiking and canoeing day trips. Campgrounds offer hookups and bath house facilities. Museums, outfitters and lodges dot the corridor. Select one of 14 day hiking trails along the corridor. For example, the Beaver Pond trail is an relatively easy hike along a two kilometer loop giving views of two beaver ponds. Pick up a printed trail guide at the trailhead. The park also has two bicycle trails.
