Most motorcycle campgrounds in Tennessee are owned by motorcycle riders. The facilities are perfectly set up for small or large group motorcycle camping. Most offer campsites with beautiful, relaxing views and access to showers and nearby restaurants.
One of the more popular rides in Tennessee is the Tail of the Dragon, a piece of highway featuring 318 curves in 11 miles. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Cherohala Skyway are also very scenic rides in Tennessee.
Tennessee hosts a number of motorcycle camping destinations, including the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge and Campground, Cherohala Motorcycle Resort, Hunts Lodge Motorcycle Campground and The Kickstand Lodge. State Parks also offer camping as well, but may have limited facilities in terms of showers or dining options.
A number of motorcycle campgrounds sponsor events to celebrate the beauty of Tennessee. The Punkin Center Motorcycle Resort hosts the Wakin the Dragon Biker Rally in early June. The Motorcycle Vacation Resort and Trials Training Center in Sequatchie, Tennessee offers motorcycle riding instruction, dirt bike trails and hosts many events throughout the year.
It is always a good idea to make a reservation at the motorcycle campground you are planning on visiting. Events happen throughout the year, and area campgrounds fill up quickly. You may get lucky if there are only one or two bikes in your group and find a spot; but if there is a large group, there might not be room for everyone.
