Instructions for a Coleman Eagle Rock Four Person Tent

Camping is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, but can be less fun without a tent, or without instructions for that tent. The Coleman Eagle Rock Tent, a four-person tent, comes with easy instructions to set up and take down this camping equipment. When erected, the tent measures nine-feet six-inches by seven-feet. It comes equipped with two main poles, two side poles and two rainfly poles for tent erection.

  1. Setting Up the Tent

    • Pick a campsite, whether in the great outdoors or your own backyard. This campsite should be free of debris, such as rocks and sticks, and should be fairly level. These factors will create an easier tent build as well as a more comfortable place to sleep. Unroll the tent and spread it completely out. It will look similar to a rectangle. Stake down the corners of the tent by inserting the stakes through the attached stake loops and securely into the ground. Assemble the poles. Simply interlock the connected pieces of pole to create an assembled pole. Do this to all poles. Put the poles in to the "pole sleeves" which are located at several locations on the tent. Slide the poles through the pole sleeves, creating an "x" with two of the poles as you do so. Make sure to only insert one pole at a time. Insert the shorter poles in the shorter sleeves on the two ends of the tent.

Insert the end of one pole in the "x" layout into a circle pin on the tent. Take the other end of the same pole and gently apply pressure, making the pole form a "u" shape until you can place the other end into the pin nearest that side. Repeat for all poles.

The tent must be attached to the frame by inserting the frame clips (attached to the tent) onto the frame. These just snap on.

For weatherization, attach the rainfly. This is not a vital piece for all camping trips, but is encouraged. The rainfly poles should already be assembled, as you've done in previous tent assembly instructions. Insert the rainfly poles on the rainfly through the pole sleeves. Drape the rainfly over the tent, evenly. The poles go over the door and rear windows. Insert the poles into loops like mentioned in previous steps. Connect the S hooks to the four elastic loops. This will keep the rainfly on.
