Great Sand Dunes Location: Colorado, Not "In Colorado"

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve lies in the San Luis Valley of south-central Colorado, ~150 miles southwest of Denver. The dunes (tallest in North America at 750 ft) butt against the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The phrasing "in Colorado" is correct—they are in Colorado. The park protects dunes, alpine lakes, tundra, and diverse ecosystems from 8,200 to 13,600 ft.
