The Inn's accommodations include communal kitchen, communal bathrooms and broadband Internet access. Advanced reservation and registration is required, and cancellation fees apply. The Rooster Comb Inn is close to restaurants and stores, and within one mile of five Adirondack trailheads. A licensed massage therapist, with 20 years experience, is available on site, by appointment.

    High Peaks Hostel

    • Located in the village of Lake Placid, the High Peaks Hostel offers a clean, comfortable place to stay. The hostel provides a common living and dining room, sheets and towels, shower and bunk beds. The dormitory-style bunk beds are in one room accommodating both male and female guests. The cost was $30 per day, per person in 2010. Guests do not have kitchen access, but breakfast is provided. Reservations are required and need to be made in advance. Shuttle services from the bus or train stations may be available; you should inquire when making reservations.

    Jackrabbit Hostel

    • The Jackrabbit is actually a combination motel-hostel. The motel is on the top floor of the building and includes two rooms--a standard room, and a kitchenette room. The hostel is located on the bottom two floors of the structure. The total capacity of the hostel is 22 people. The hostel has four dormitory-style rooms with bunk beds. There is a shared commercial kitchen, shower room and common television room. In 2010, rates were $25 to $28 per night, per person. Reservations are required.
