Mount Croghan is a small town in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. With a total land area of 0.8 square miles and fewer than 200 inhabitants, as of 2009, most of the hotels are located a short distance from the town. Mount Croghan was once a lively farming community, a place where card parties, box suppers, church socials, sporting events and school plays took place. The Mount Croghan Museum documents these events as well as the two major fires that hit the town. Other important sites include the Elizabeth Baptist Church, the Mount Croghan Methodist Church, the Mount Croghan Bank and the Mount Croghan School.
