Although it is an unincorporated town with a population of less than 100 persons, Idalia is a wonderful vacation spot for families. Bonny Lake State Park has a 1,900-acre lake that offers swimming and sunbathing, cattail marshes entice many bird lovers, a river-fed reservoir is stocked full of fish and the surrounding prairies are available for hiking, camping and hunting. The town has only one motel, but additional lodging can be found 35 to 55 miles away.
