Victorian Hotels in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Gettysburg Pennsylvania, the historical site of the bloody Civil War battle, is still entrenched in it's own history. Monuments, memorials and museums litter this quaint town. Among the Civil War sites, Gettysburg is also home to a few Victorian era hotels that take it's guests back in time with turn of the century style.

  1. Bechtel Victorian Mansion

    • This Victorian period inn is located just close to the historic Gettysburg Battlefield and is surrounded by gift shops, boutiques and museums. This is a bed and breakfast built in 1897 with many original architectural features still remaining such as the high ceilings, brass chandeliers, pocket doors, and grand staircase.

      Each of the seven bedrooms and two suites are decorated in Victorian period style. Windows are dressed with lace curtains, beds are spread with quilts and the furniture is antique. The owner's collection of dolls and Boyd's Bears are showcased throughout the inn. Each room has a private bathroom and built-in wardrobe and some rooms have a private balcony. Other amenities include air-conditioning, turn-down service, guest kitchenette, full breakfast, early coffee and tea, afternoon tea, homemade treats and a gift shop on the grounds.

    A Sentimental Journey Bed and Breakfast

    • This Victorian bed and breakfast is centrally located in the historic district of Gettysburg close to the famous battlefield of the Civil War. Built in the early part of the twentieth century, this bed and breakfast still retains much of it's character with it's red bricks and hardwood floors. The rooms are furnished by old fashioned claw foot tubs and iron beds and other antiques. Other amenities include cable television, air-conditioning, continental breakfast and off street parking.

    Brickhouse Inn

    • This Victorian hotel features two historic buildings, an 1898 mansion and the 1830 Welty House, which was taken over by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. The Welty House walls still bear the bullet scars from that time period. It is located in the downtown historic district of Gettysburg and is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and attractions.

      A warm breakfast is prepared for guests each morning, which includes the secret family dish, Pennsylvania Shoo Fly pie. All rooms have retained the original hardwood floors and feature various antiques and replicas.
