One of its more popular services is roadside assistance, though AAA offers members a variety of benefits such as car insurance, vacation deals, shopping discounts, auto mechanic repair recommendations and other items. One element of vacation deals that AAA offers are reduced hotel rates to a variety of hotels. If, for any reason, you need to cancel an existing hotel reservation that you made through AAA, the process is simple.
Call the travel service branch of AAA at 1-800-453-9125 if you made your hotel reservation with a travel agent. Give the representative your AAA member number and the city in which you live. Call 1-877-215-4841 if you made your reservation online. This will connect you with Travelocity, the company which powers the AAA website. Representatives can assist you in canceling an online reservation.
Give the representative the name and location of your reservation and the dates. Explain that you would like to cancel it. Ask AAA to send you an email confirming your cancellation and the fact that AAA will not charge you for the hotel.
Check your email for the cancellation email. Read it and save it to a folder in your inbox or on the desktop of your computer. Miscommunication between AAA and the hotel is possible so make sure your have a copy of your canceled reservation.
