The Craftsbury Inn is a longtime landmark of the Craftsbury neighborhood, built about 1850. The mansion is of Greek Revival architecture, but has been converted into an inn with 10 guest rooms, a dining room and pub. French cuisine is served in the dining room and afternoon tea on the lawn during the summer. Only six of the guest rooms have private bathrooms; the others share two bathrooms. The Black River runs right through the Craftsbury Inn's property, giving guests easy access. In addition to lodging, the Craftsbury Inn is also a fiber farm that raises animals for wool, which it then spins and turns into items for sale in its wool shop
The Craftsbury Outdoor Center opened its doors for outdoor enthusiasts in 1976 and, in 2008, became a nonprofit organization whose goal is to support the community through the awareness of outdoor sports and protection of land. In addition to a venue for meetings of sports groups and family reunions, the Craftsbury Outdoor Center offers multiple types of lodging, from hotel-style rooms, apartment-like rooms and even lakeside cottages. Included with your stay are three meals of fresh local food. The Craftsbury Outdoor Center caters to multiple dietary needs, from vegan to lactose-intolerant. Bikes, kayaks and canoes are all available for rent, and guided nature hikes can show you the sights. In 2004, Craftsbury Outdoor Center joined the Green Hotels in the Green Mountain state program, promising to reduce pollution and protect the environment.
