Lodging Near the Redwoods

Northern Calfornia's Redwood National and State Parks stretch for more than 40 miles along the coastline. Don't miss the Avenue of the Giants, a 31-mile drive on Highway 101 through old-growth redwood forests. The Avenue's Rockefeller Forest is home to the "Champion Coast Redwood," a 370-foot-tall tree. Along with amazingly tall, ancient trees, the parks also offer hiking, whale watching, biking and interpretive activities. Towns along the coast offer a variety of lodging options, from rustic cabins to budget-friendly motels to luxurious resorts.
