Approximately eight miles from the heart of Snowshoe Mountain ski resort, you'll find the Mount Airy Bed and Breakfast. Guests who stay at Mount Airy can enjoy the closeness of the nearby ski resort, but with a more reclusive lodging option. On the eastern side of Snowshoe Mountain, the Chestnut Ridge Country Inn is a private bed and breakfast accommodation for visitors of the nearby ski resort. Nestled near the base of the mountain, this renovated farmhouse turned B & B is about 15 miles from the heart of Snowshoe ski resort. Chestnut Ridge offers four spacious guestrooms, each with a private bath. The farmhouse was originally built in the late 19th century, and even though it's been refurbished by its current owners, they kept much of the antiquated chestnut paneling, original wood flooring and clawfoot bathtubs. Breakfast is included each morning to guests, and afterward, you can gather in the common room to sit and relax by the large fireplace. Families will appreciate the larger guestrooms; the Chestnut Ridge suite and the Griffin Room guestroom. Each can accommodate four to five people, while the Peters Ridge and Snow Ridge rooms sleep one to two people comfortably.
