The 36 Les Cheneaux Islands, strung between Hessel and Cedarville in the Upper Peninsula, protect about 12 miles of coast from the currents and weather of Lake Huron. Cabins and resorts in this area benefit from quiet channels and bays for fishing, swimming and boating.
Les Cheneaux Landing is a family-oriented resort on 250 feet of waterfront property opposite Marquette Island, the largest of the Cheneaux group. The resort has 11 housekeeping cabins, ranging in size from two to four bedrooms, available spring, summer and fall. Facilities at the resort include a sand beach volleyball court, a small basketball court, a swimming beach and docks. A launch ramp is available for boat owners. Boats and motors are also available for rent on-site.

Woods Resort is a small colony of four lakefront cabins 1 mile east of Grand Marais, Michigan. This quiet and lightly populated area on the south shore of Lake Huron is close to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
The pine-shaded cabins are available from May 1 to mid-October. All the cabins have views of Grand Marais harbor and the Grand Marais Light. They are simply furnished and equipped but have cable television.
A boardwalk from the cabins crosses a marsh and skirts a pond where birdwatchers can spot waterfowl and other lakeshore wildlife. The boardwalk ends at the beach on Grand Marais Bay.
