Lakefront Cabins in Vermont

Vermont has many lakes and bodies of water. Some are man-made and others were made from glacier deposits. Vermont lakes can be used year-round for activities such as swimming, fishing, boating and skating. Many of these lakes are untouched around the edges but a few have cabins and cottages built around their edges so guests can enjoy the comforts of home.
  1. Harvey's Lake Cabins

    • Harvey's Lake Cabins are full furnished with kitchen and toiletry supplies. They have outside fire pits, lawn chairs and picnic tables. Personal linens, TVs, microwaves and telephones are not included in the rental rates. The cabins come in different sizes and two of them are dog-friendly. One of the main activities at Harvey's Lake is fishing, particularly trout fishing. Canoes, kayaks and row boats can be rented from Harvey Lake Cabins and Campground.The cabins are near Barnet, Vermont, a small town made up of five villages. There are two grocery stores nearby, one golf course, plenty of hiking and biking trails.

    The WilloughVale Inn

    • The WilloughVale Inn is open year-round and has eight cottages for guests to choose from--four are lake-front and the other four are lake-view. The lake-front cottages come in one- and two-bedroom units and feature views of Willoughby Gap--a well-known local farmstead. Cottages have full kitchens, living rooms and private docks. A barbecue, satellite TV and air conditioning give the cottages the comforts of home. Some units have whirlpool spa tubs. Dogs under 50 pounds are welcome. An on-site restaurant has vegetarian options and a variety of meats and dishes. A continental breakfast is included with the rates.

    Charlie's Northland Lodge

    • This lodge has only one cottage to rent which they call the "Little House in the Woods." The cottage is set back about 100 feet from Lake Champlain and has its own private dock. Guests can use the 14-foot fishing boat moored at the dock. The cottage has two bedrooms and is roomy with a full kitchen. Guests are asked to bring their own linens unless they arrange ahead for linens to be provided. The cottage is two miles from The Knight Point State Park, and Lake Champlain is known for its fishing.

    Craftsbury Outdoor Center

    • The outdoor center is a place that promotes outdoor fitness in the area. It has a network of trails, activities and programs throughout the year. It also rents cottages that are lake-front to Great Hosmer Pond. The cottages are private and have Wi-Fi; three meals a day are included in the rates. Meals are home-style dishes and can be made to accommodate different dietary needs. Guests can enjoy sculling on the lake, cross-country skiing, running and hiking and other outdoor activities.
