Log Cabins in and near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Coeur d'Alene is located in the Idaho panhandle on the shores of Coeur d'Alene Lake and adjacent to the Coeur d'Alene National Forest. Since the city's beginnings as a hunting and trading hub in the late 1800s, the city's business and cultural entities have flourished. However, even with modernity, the city's origins are still readily apparent. Cabin rentals are available throughout the area for those looking to recapture the essence of a young Coeur d'Alene.

    • The Lake Coeur d'Alene Camping Resort provides guests with the opportunity to rent rustic or more modern log cabins. The rustic cabins come with either one or two rooms and sleep four to six people, respectively. Guests staying in these cabins must use the outdoor fire pit and the community toilet and shower facilities, and they must bring their own bedding. Alternatively, guests can stay in the Park Model cabin, which has a full kitchen, one bedroom, one loft and a private bathroom, and all bedding materials are provided.

      The resort's amenities include hot tubs, a general store, laundry room, bathroom and shower facilities, and a game room.

    Tamarack RV Park

    • Although an RV park in name, the Tamarack RV Park also provides tent camping sites and log cabin rentals. Tamarack has three different cabins available. The Cowboy Bunkhouse provides a double bed and a sofa bed and includes a full kitchen and a large front porch. The Tamarack House has three bedrooms, a full kitchen and a television. The Lumberjack House comes with eight bunk beds, a kitchenette, and a television.

      Numerous amenities are within walking distance of Tamarack, like grocery stores and restaurants. Many other activities within the city are less than a 15 minute drive away, including golf, shopping, museums and hiking.

    Wolf Lodge Campground

    • The Wolf Lodge Campground is open from mid-May until the beginning of October. It provides guests with five different rental cabin options. The smallest cabin, the Bobcat Cabin, sleeps two people and is built against the side of the mountain. The Deer Lodge and Elk Lodge Cabins sleep four to six people and include fire rings, picnic tables, small refrigerators, microwaves and small decks. The Osprey Perch Cabin and the Wolf Lodge Cabin have the most amenities and include full kitchens, dining tables and some cookware.

      The campground has a general store, nightly outdoor movies, free wireless Internet, a playground, laundry and bathroom facilities.

    National Forest Cabin Rentals

    • Those interested in staying in a cabin outside of city limits will find two rental cabins in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest, less than 25 miles from the city. The Magee Historic Ranger Cabin, located next to Tepee Creek, sleeps six and has running water, a bathroom and a kitchen. The Little Guard Lookout Cabin has a bed, cots, a kitchen with a propane refrigerator and a stove, but no running water. Both cabins are in very rural areas and as such, guests must pack out all garbage.
