Located in Lyons, approximately 15 minutes north of Boulder, Stone Mountain Lodge and Cabins is on 45 acres that feature a pond, red cliffs and a great view of the Rocky Mountains. Some of the cabins have a rustic appearance, as they were built circa 1950s. These cabins also are rusted in nature with panels of knotty pine, lofts for sleeping and wood-burning fireplaces. In addition to the pond, Stone Mountain Lodge has an outdoor heated pool and half-mile hiking trails winding to the clifftops. Across the street on this forested property is a river where guests can fish and go tubing.

Situated approximately 10 minutes northwest of downtown Boulder, A River Bend Retreat features lodging once described as a "Hansel and Gretel-style cabin." It is located in a wooded area along the banks of the South Saint Vrain River in the Roosevelt National Forest. It has a rustic atmosphere with stone fireplace, wood-burning stove in the main bedroom and private patio with fire pit. Guests can fish in the river and hike on several nearby trails.

Located at the mouth of a canyon amidst many pine trees and a mountain view, Silver Saddle Motel in Boulder has 32 rustic-style cabins varying in size and design.
