Log Cabins Near Longview, Texas

According to the City of Longview website, this is a small town that is big on service and encompasses true east Texas living. The town plays host to the Great Texas Balloon Race, which takes place each July.   1. Caddo Lake State Park

    • Caddo Lake maintains nine log cabins for accommodating guests of the park. They are located half a mile from the shores of Caddo Lake. They were built in the 1930s by the Civilians Conservation Corps, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department describes them as "quaint." Three large cabins accommodate up to six guests, four cabins hold four people, two cabins hold two, and a limited use cabin accommodates five. All of the cabins come with bathrooms and showers, heat, air conditioning, linens, towels, an outdoor grill and a picnic table. There are no cooking utensils in the cabins and no cooking is allowed indoors.

    Lake O' the Pines Lodge

    • Lake O' the Pines Lodge is a year-round establishment located 35 miles north of Longview. They accommodate guests with rooms in the main lodge, lodge houses and cabins nestled between parks, marinas and the 18,700-acre Lake O' the Pines. Guest cabins here include all of the modern amenities, such as cable TV, bathrooms, coffee makers, fully equipped kitchens and outdoor grills. The cabins are available with one or two beds of varying sizes. The nearby Johnson Creek Recreational Area offers guests of Pines Lodge hiking, picnicking, sports, water recreation and an amphitheatre. Guests staying at the cabins are also welcome to use the lodge facilities, such as the swimming pool.

    Day Use Cabin at The Old Parker Place

    • Three and a half acres of beauty surround this rustic estate 11 miles east of Longview. In addition to the main house, there is a small log cabin on the property. This is a venue for events such as weddings, receptions, banquets and other formal occasions. The log cabin is commonly used as the groom's dressing area for weddings held here. The estate is fully prepared for large events with an equipped kitchen, bridal area in the main house, lighted gazebo, security, parking attendants and designated smoking areas. The property is professionally landscaped throughout and provides a romantic, country garden atmosphere within the piney woods of Texas.

    Day Use Cabin at Daffodil Garden

    • This small, hidden getaway is tucked away in 816 acres of daffodil fields and Texas landscape called Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Garden. A four-mile trail takes visitors on a colorful journey around two lakes located on the property. This oasis is 14 miles west of Longview and is a perfect haven for Longview residents or visitors. The garden surrounds a replica pioneer type cabin that was built by Helen Lee in 1954. The cabin looks out over a three-acre pond called Lake Josephine. This garden is open to the public during February and March, as this is when the daffodils are in bloom. Though the cabin isn't equipped for overnight stays, guests are encouraged to spread a blanket on the ground and have a picnic.
