West Virginia is known for its mountains and for having the longest steel-arch bridge in the United States, the New River Gorge Bridge. Despite its name, it is actually one of the oldest rivers in the world and flows south to north because it was formed before the mountains. Many cabins and campgrounds can be found near this river, as well as a few other rivers in West Virginia.
The Greenbrier River flows the entire length of Pocahontas County and past the front doors of Greenbrier River Cabins. The river is suitable for swimming, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The cabins sleep up to eight people and features include fireplaces, decks overlooking the river, charcoal grills, fully-equipped kitchens, linens, TV, DVD players and hardwood floors. The Greenbrier River Trail has over 78 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding. Cabins nestle between the river and the trail. The small town of Seebert, with amenities including an historic church and general store, is a short walking distance away.
