The Hammond Regional Arts Center's mission is to provide arts education and professional exhibits for public viewing. In hopes of encouraging art appreciation, the center offers art classes. Past art classes included digital photography and painting courses. Past exhibits included Juried Print Show, Degas Pastel Society and Fine & Functional Crafts. The center is a non-profit organization.
For swimmers of all ages and levels, the Riptide Swim Club offers classes to help develop proper stroke techniques along with various other life skills including teamwork and good sportsmanship. Besides swimming lessons, the swim club offers a summer swim team along with a high school swim team. Infant water programs are available along with adult swimming and private lessons.
Zemurray Park boasts a 0.7 mile jogging track, a 15,000-square-foot skate park and a walking path among many other amenities. With 33 acres, the park has plenty of activities for the kids including swings, a slide, a sandbox and a jungle gym. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the tennis courts, baseball fields or batting cages. For those who would much rather enjoy nature, they can have a picnic by the scenic pond.
Located on Highway 190 East, the HiddenOaks Family Campground provides all sorts of recreation. Featuring live music, weekend bingo, a fishing lake and a beach, the campground has activities to please groups of all ages. Tent camping is available along with mobile home or RV camping and cabin rentals. There are seven cabins available, six of which sleep four people and boast a shared back porch overlooking the lake. Amenities at the park include a camp store, laundry facilities, game room and an in-ground pool.
