Callaway Gardens is a resort and spa with plenty to offer the whole family. It has a number of choices when it comes to on-site accommodation, from the 323-room Mountain Creek Inn to the more private Mountain Creek Villas. Prices vary, and specials can be arranged for large groups. The resort offers plenty of activities for those interested in the outdoors. Biking enthusiasts and casual riders can embark on the 10-mile Discovery Trail, for instance. Fishermen, too, will find ample opportunities for rainbow, brown and brook trout. Plenty of rolling fields and open spaces can accommodate a number of other activities, and Robin Lake Beach is ideal for anyone interested in lounging by the water. As far as dining goes, there are 10 choices at the resort. These serve a variety of traditional Southern dishes -- often Georgia-inspired -- pub fare, and quick bites between activities. A full spa is also available. Both the spa and restaurant can be reserved for large groups. Packages are available that are mostly seasonal, like the Summer Family Adventure and Warm Winter's Nights packages.
Nestled at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains are the Pine Mountain Club Chalets. This resort offers a number of privately-owned chalet cabins that can be rented throughout the year. These are mainly three bedroom cabins, but four and five bedroom options are available. In addition, the Family Lodge can be rented out, which has eight bedrooms, five bathrooms, a living room and a media room. The accommodations are perfect for family reunions because they offer privacy and relaxation in a homey atmosphere. Three meeting spaces are available to be rented out with catering capabilities as well. Located nearby is the 12-acre Lake Innsbruck, for boating and fishing, and there is a pool and tennis courts on the grounds as well. Trails crisscross through the woods nearby and a nine-hole golf course is also available for guests.
Serenity Cove offers a number of rentable lakefront properties in Hiawassee. These include four cabins, which have two rooms and a bathroom. These are all fully furnished and include everything from a fireplace and a covered porch to complimentary wireless Internet access. In addition, there is a single, 2,200 square-foot lakehouse for rent that includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Serenity Cove prides itself on being a relaxed and laid back establishment. Since there are no large meeting areas anywhere on the property, this is best for smaller family reunions. Specials are available in January and February, when a lower price for extended stays are offered.
