The mountain at the Granite Peak ski area stands at 700 feet and is covered by natural snow. Snow guns supplement natural snow ensuring plenty of snow during high ski months of November to April. With 74 runs spread across the mountain, there is an area for every skier. There are wide-open spaces for beginners, mile-long cruises for intermediate skiers and two mogul runs, five terrain parks with dozens of hits, jumps and rails for the expert skier. Getting around the mountain is easy with the addition of seven new chairlifts.
After skiing for the day, guests will want to warm up and visit the base village at Granite Peak. There are a variety of places to explore throughout the many buildings of the village. At Granite Ski and Sports, guests can shop for clothing, accessories and ski hardware. Ski tuning and additional practice with new skis take place at the Peak Performance Demos and Tuning Center. To learn how to ski, guests will want to head over to the Alpine Learning Center for lessons and children's programs. Guests who master the ski lessons will want to visit the Mountain Rental Shop for new skis and snowboards. After a day of physical activity, visit to the Historic Stone Chalet for a history lesson on the 10th Mountain Division. These activities should work up an appetite for a trip to the Sundance Chalet and Grill where guests will find hot foods like burgers, pizza and soups. For those guests looking for a drinks, live entertainment and the company of others, a visit to the lounge on the upper level of the Historic Chalet is needed.
Granite Peak offers 18 choices of accommodations from hotels located at the bottom of the mountain. Most have suites, pools, on-site restaurants and are located minutes from the slopes. Prospective guests can book lodging, lift tickets, rentals and lessons all online through Granite Peak. The rates for the hotels at Granite Peak are already low; however, visitors who book a package through Granite Peak receive even bigger discounts.
