The number of Areoplan points you have doesn't mean anything if you don't claim them. Areoplan miles can be used for more than just flights. They can be used for rental cars, getaway weeks and other merchandise. Claiming your Areoplan miles is simple. All you have to do is log into your account.
Go to Areoplan.com and log into your account to see how many points you have. The number of miles you have may limit the things you can redeem them for.
Click on the "Use your Miles" tab at the top of the page. Then choose what category you want to use for your miles. You can choose from travel, hotels, car rentals, or activities and merchandise.
Pick your destination. If you're planning to use your points for travel, hotel or car rental you will be prompted to enter where and when you would like to travel. Once you have entered the dates and destinations you will be given the options available for the dates you have chosen. The amount of miles needed will be displayed to the right of the different options.
Make your reservation. After you have decided on the dates and time that you want to travel you can make your reservations. After the reservations are made you will receive a confirmation letter via email.
Click on the "Activities and Merchandise" section. You will see a drop down menu showing the different categories of merchandise and activities that are available. The amount of miles needed to purchase each item will be listed to the right hand side of the item description. Click on the item to add it to your cart and enter your shipping information.
