Alaska RV Trips

Alaska, the country's largest state, offers a variety of options for RV vacationers, including forest-based or waterfront campgrounds. Due to long, cold winters throughout the entire state, most RV campgrounds in Alaska operate primarily between the months of May and October. Many campgrounds offer sites on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
  1. Inside Passage

    • Comprised of various islands and fjords, the Inside Passage of Alaska plays host to such cities as Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway. Although the region doesn't feature any roads, RVs may travel by ferry. Situated in the southeastern tip of Alaska, tourists can explore such natural wonders as Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Tongass National Forest and Misty Fjords Monument. Regional campgrounds provide natural settings, such as Ketchikan's waterfront Clover Pass Resort, which features excellent fishing conditions. The Spruce Meadow RV Park in Juneau offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, including black bears, wolves, deer and eagles. The Skagway-based Pullen Creek RV Park is located next to the train depot, which offers scenic excursions via the White Pass Yukon Railroad.
