RV Parks in Maryhill, Oregon

The town of Maryhill, Wash., is located in the central Columbia River Gorge. Activities include hiking, windsurfing, swimming and water-skiing. Fish for salmon, sturgeon, steelhead and walleye from boats or for bass from the shore. Visit the Maryhill Museum of Art, located on a bluff just above the town of Maryhill, the Maryhill Winery for a wine tasting, and a full-scale replica of England's Stonehenge. Shopping and restaurants are available in Goldendale, 12 miles to the north; there is also a restaurant and lounge in Biggs Junction, Oregon, one mile to the south across the U.S. 97 bridge.

    • Maryhill State Park is located on the north bank of the Columbia River, 12 miles south of Goldendale, Wash. The 99-acre park has nearly 5,000 feet of river frontage and includes 50 recreational vehicle sites with utilities and 20 tent sites. Restrooms are available, including ADA-equipped toilets and showers. Two picnic shelters have two tables each. There are two boat ramps and 216 feet of dock available to boaters. Take Interstate 84 to Biggs Junction, Oregon; turn north on U.S. 97 at exit #104 and cross the Columbia River. Maryhill State Park is just north of the Washington end of the bridge.

    Peach Beach Campark

    • Peach Beach is adjacent to Maryhill State Park. It has 82 sites, half of which are pull-through sites. The RV sites are gravel but level. Tents are allowed. Many of the sites have 50-amp electrical hookups, sewer and water. There are sites with cable television hookups but no wireless Internet service. The park is covered with shade trees, which is a wonderful amenity in an area where summer daytime temperatures can climb above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The restrooms have showers. Much of Peach Beach fronts the Columbia River, making this a favorite site for wind surfers who frequent the windy Columbia River Gorge. Fruit stands are within easy walking distance during the summer. Peach Beach is open year-round with reasonable rates of $20-$25 per night.

    Rufus RV Park

    • Rufus, Ore., is located 7.5 miles south and east of Maryhill, Wash. Cross the Columbia River on the U.S. 97 bridge and turn left at Biggs Junction, Ore. Rufus RV Park has 58 full hookup sites with power, water and sewer. There are restrooms, showers and a laundromat. There is no cable television service available, but wireless Internet connections cost $5 a day, or $20 a month. A restaurant, lounge and market are located nearby, and gas is available at Biggs Junction. The park has a single rental cabin that sleeps six and includes a full kitchen.
