A sprawling facility along the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, Ocean Lakes Family Campground received the 2008-2009 National RV Park of the Year award from the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds. Located in Myrtle Beach, a mecca of quality golf courses, the campground includes nearly 1 mile of beach area as well as a recreation center with swimming pool, sun decks, game room, miniature golf course and cafe. The camping portion of the resort has 890 pull-through sites and can handle RVs as long as 40 feet. Each site has water, sewer, and either 20-, 30- or 50-amp electrical hookups, as well as cable TV, modem-friendly phone jack, trash pickup and picnic table. Other features include a recreation office, laundry facilities and an RV supply store. This park is so popular that making reservations well in advance is recommended.

Located in the center of the state in the Columbia area, The Barnyard RV Park has spacious sites that include water, sewer, either 30- or 50-amp electric connections and cable TV. Making reservations for weekends is recommended. The property has an air-conditioned laundry facility, two bathhouses, RV supplies at the office, 24-hour security and a propane filling station. Some of the main attractions in this area include massive Lake Murray and the South Carolina State Museum. A stellar attraction for many is the Barnyard Flea Market, located next door to the park. A duck pond, dump station, clubhouse and picnic pavilion are also located on the park grounds.

April Valley RV Park, situated in the northwest corner of the state, spreads over 130 acres on a property with a 12-acre stocked lake. The park is in a mountainous area 10 miles from the city of Greenville, a state park and two more lakes. Clemson University is also in the area. The park has 27 RV sites that include 20-, 30- or 50-amp electrical connections as well as water and sewer connections. Fishing in the park's lake is free, although there is a limit on how many fish you can catch. As of the summer of 2010, the park was constructing a lodge that will house three bathrooms, a full kitchen and a meeting room. Laundry facilities are available, and the park rents its RV sites on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
