RV Parks in Fresno & Madera County

Gateway to Yosemite National Park, Fresno and Madera counties offer many recreational opportunities. Both are close to the wine country of Northern California, and within driving distance of the San Francisco Bay area and Lake Tahoe. Visitors can sightsee, fish, swim, or picnic at many locations throughout both counties. Within these counties are many RV parks offering spaces for travelers to spend a night, a week or a month.
  1. Blackstone North RV Park

    • RV camping is very popular.

      This large park has 90 spaces in assorted sizes, up to 70-feet long. Sites have 30-amp or 50-amp service, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. Tent camping is permitted in the tent area. Rates as of June, 2010 are $15 per night for tents, $35 per night for RVs, with full hookups. The weekly RV rate is $175. There is no additional charge for pets.

      Blackstone has restrooms and laundry facilities on site. The park is also close to Cal State Fresno, shopping, hospitals, and restaurants. Contact Blackstone for reservations prior to arrival. Long-term campers must submit an application and be approved by the management.

    The Lakes RV & Golf Resort

    • Guests at The Lakes also get free golf.

      Located in Chowchilla, this Madera County RV park offers complimentary golf for guests as well as many other amenities. This RV park has 87 spaces, 18 of which are pull-through, and 19 of which are situated on the lake. Full hookups are pedestal style, with 20-, 30-, or 50-amp service. Cable TV is included. Guests may relax in the clubhouse, take a hot shower, use the restrooms, or take advantage of the lighted tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts.

      The Lakes is located conveniently close to California's central coast, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Parks, Napa Wine Country, and Lake Tahoe. Rates are $40 to $50 per night, or $240 to $300 weekly as of June, 2010. Monthly rates are also available. Tents are not permitted.

    Dinkey Creek Campground and RV Park

    • Staying in more rustic RV parks often has other benefits, such as hiking trails.

      Operated by California Land Management, Dinkey Creek Campground is located near Shaver Lake in northeastern Fresno County. Within the park are biking and hiking trails, showers, outhouses, fishing, and swimming. Drinking water is available.

      Guests can choose from 95 sites, although a few of these are restricted to tent camping only. These are dry spots, with no hookups available. Spaces are up to 50 feet long. Some have accommodations for handicap access, including paving around the space. Cost per space is $23 to $48, depending on the size of the space. Reservations are recommended and can be made online.
