Hay Creek Valley Campground is located five miles from Red Wing, next to the Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood Forest. Campsites at Hay Creek Valley offer 150 RV sites with full hookups and access to restrooms with showers and laundry facilities. Other amenities at this campground include a heated swimming pool, picnic pavilion, volleyball, horseshoe court, playground, game room, hiking trails and a trout stream. Lunch and dinner are served at the on-site Old Western Saloon and feature weekly specials.

Frontenac State Park is located 10 miles from Red Wing on the Mississippi River. This park is a birdwatcher's paradise with more than 260 species of birds spotted here as they migrate in the spring and fall. This campground has 59 RV sites. Sites at Frontenac State Park are primitive--some sites include electric hookups, with most only providing access to toilets, showers and a dump station.

Hidden Valley Campground is located 10 miles north of Red Wing. This facility offers 200 RV sites including pull-through sites. Campsites offer full hookups, tables, fire rings and access to restrooms with hot showers. Other amenities at Hidden Valley include a small camp store, pool table and tube rental. Shuttles transport guests throughout the day to a river location upstream allowing guests to tube back to their campsite.
