Flying Goose Campground is located five miles east of Fairmont. This 40-year-old campground has a mile long sand beach that can be used to launch pontoon boats, canoes and kayaks. Flying Goose has 110 sites including 30 pull-thru sites and several lake view sites. Water and electric services and two sanitary dump stations are available. Campground amenities include restrooms with hot showers, laundry facilities, Sunday chapel services, a general store, and free wireless Internet. A recreation center at Flying Goose offers seating for 125 people, a full kitchen and an outdoor patio with fire pit. Other activities include movies, ping-pong, foosball, hay rides, an 18-hole mini golf course, a boat dock and a boat rental services offering paddle boats, canoes and pontoons.

Dawson's Lakeside Campground is located four miles from Fairmont. This rural campground is located on Bud Lake and is next to South Silver Lake. Dawson's offers 140 campsites with full hook-ups. Campground amenities include a general store, hot showers, laundry facilities, a coffee shop and fishing bait and licenses. Activities at Dawson's include a pool, hot tub, recreational room, playground, boat dock with boat rentals, miniature golf and weekend entertainment.

Checkers Welcome Campground is located nine miles from Fairmont. This rural campground offers six tent campsites and 29 RV sites with electric and water. Tent campers have their own picnic area with a picnic table and fire ring. Campground amenities include a convenience store, restrooms and showers. Checkers Welcome Campground has a playground, and fishing, canoeing and hiking are available at nearby Cedar Creek Park.
