RV Parks in Corsicana, Texas

More and more vacationers in the United States are choosing to spend their money on a recreational vehicle rather than motel or hotel rooms and, as a result, RV campgrounds have become much more than a place to park. Corsicana, Texas--just about fifty miles south of Dallas--enjoys a mild, subtropical climate that is attractive to summer visitors looking for outside adventure and a chance to enjoy fishing, boating and other watersports.

  1. Oak Cove Marina

    • Water sports and fishing are the attraction at Oak Cove.

Whether you prefer an RV park, a campground or a motel, you'll find what you need at Oak Cove Marina, on the shore of Richland Chambers Reservoir in Corsicana. The motel isn't much to look at, but kitchenette rooms are available and some campers like to sleep outside in their rigs but prefer to have a private bathroom with a bigger shower. The RV spaces have all the amenities, including 50- or 30-amp hookups, and there are plenty of dump stations. For those who would rather let others do the cooking, the park's small restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at modest prices. The Oak Cove store not only sells groceries but gasoline, diesel, bait, tackle and fishing or hunting licenses. Fishing boat and pontoon rentals are available for individuals, groups or tournaments, and the restaurant provides catering for special events.

    • Enjoy a cookout by the lake.

Formerly Southport Marina RV Park, Northshore Harbor started a massive upgrade in 2010 with a condominium development, but there are still a handful of sites with water and electrical hookups. The cement pads are scattered among the trees, about 300 yards from the shore of the Richland Chambers Reservoir. There is a boathouse and a launch ramp. You can boat or swim over to the Harbor Inn for lunch and in the evenings, it has a fairly lively dinner and bar crowd. If you wish, have a cookout in one of the BBQ pits on the grounds.
