    • The Arcadia Lodge is a family resort that has existed since 1922. It is located in Bigfork, Minn., just 30 miles north of Grand Rapids. The resort offers 21 cabins and three motel-style lodge units. Cabin rooms range from one to 10 bedrooms. Each cabin is equipped with a television, kitchen, dishwashers, satellite cable and microwaves. Most cabins contain a gas fireplace and a deck with picnic tables and a charcoal grill. The Eagle's Nest Dining Room, located on the premises, offers dining services everyday except Sundays and Mondays.

      The lodge is located along Big Turtle Lake, the top location for fishing smallmouth bass. Boat docking and water slides for children are available on the shore.

    Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge

    • Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge has been in business for over 100 years. It is located in Bemidji, Minn., along the Bemidji Lake. The resort offers "lakefront rooms, suites, town homes, a whirlpool suite with fireplace, and cottages with one to four bedrooms." A nine-hole and 18-hole golf course is located on the premises, along with tennis and and basketball courts.

      Summer activities include many water-based entertainment such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming and water skiing. Lifeguard supervision also is provided. Children also may engage in hiking, treasure hunts and bonfires, all of which are free of cost.

    Gunflint Lodge

    • The Gunflint Lodge is located in Grand Marais, Minn., and offers a variety of summer activities. Activities include horseback riding, massage, moose calling, swimming, biking, canoeing and fishing. The resort is located just a few miles from the Centennial Trail, offering great hiking trails to guests. Cabin rooms range from one to four bedrooms. Each cabin includes hot tubs, fireplaces, and washers and dryers. Pets are welcome.

      Located near the resort is the Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center, which sa history of Native Americans who once lived in northern Minnesota. Walking trails leading from the resort, can lead guests to the museum.
