Glenwood is a city in Pope County, Minnesota with a population of 2,525 as of July 2008. Glenwood is located at the east end of Lake Minnewaska at the junction of Minnesota State Highways 28, 29, 55, and 104. Its tourist attractions include Pope County Historical Museum and the Glenwood City Beach. There are several resorts based around the various lakes near Glenwood.

    • This resort is near Lake Reno, six miles north of Glenwood on Highway 29. It has docks and a boat ramp, a small store, grills, playground equipment, gas, ice and a coin-operated laundry. The beach is sandy and the waters are clean and clear. Walleye, bass and sunfish are abundant. There are six cabins of different sizes for between two and six people. A coffee pot, TV, electric fans, microwave, toaster, clock-radio, lawn chairs, picnic table and an aluminum boat come with each rented cabin. Guests must bring their own bath and kitchen towels. Pets are charged $10 a day.

    Peters Sunset Beach Resort

    • The Peters Sunset Beach Resort on Lake Minnewaska has an 18-hole golf course with fairways that cut through forests and with views of the lake. It has a historic dining room, tennis courts and lake access with a beach and a shallow and sandy bottom. The resort has cottages ranging in size from one to five bedrooms, townhouses with two to four bedrooms and reunion cottages with eight bedrooms. All of the accommodations come with living-dining rooms and fully-equipped kitchens. The dining room in the main lodge serves breakfast and dinner.

    Shady Rest Resort & Campground

    • This resort is on 30 acres of land near the 940 acres of Lake Amelia, about 8 miles from Glenwood. The resort has 12 two- and three-bedroom cabins which are air conditioned, have a stove and oven, fridge with freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils, dishes and silverware. Each cabin also has a TV, ceiling fan, charcoal grill, picnic table and a large deck with views of Lake Amelia. Guests bring their own towels and soaps. There are also 18 campsites and a convenience store with tackle and live bait, groceries, T-shirts and sweatshirts and other necessities. No pets are allowed.
