Minnesota Ice Fishing Resorts

With the thousands of fish-filled lakes and frozen winters in Minnesota, ice fishing is a popular winter activity. In addition to the many large fishing lakes, there are many resorts throughout the state that offer lodging and ice fishing activities during the months of October through April.
  1. Flag Island Resort

    • Flag Island Resort in Angle Inlet, Minn., offers ice fishing and other activities during the winter months. The resort is located in the Northwest Angle, which is the furthest north point in the continental United States. Flag Island Resort borders Lake of the Woods, which is a large subarctic lake teeming with pike and sturgeon fish. There are ice fishing houses and facilities available on the lake. In addition to ice fishing, the resort also offers excellent hunting. The daily lodging rate ranges from $40 to $95, as of 2010, and the resort is open year-round.

    Four Seasons Resort

    • The Four Seasons Resort located in Bena offers ice fishing and a host of other activities. The resort features both Mississippi river and lake ice fishing, ice fishing houses, cabins and campgrounds. The resort is open year-round (closed in April and November) and daily indoor lodging rates are $110 to $350, as of 2010; daily camping rates are $32 to $40.

    Garden Lake Resort

    • Garden Lake Resort in Ely offers ice fishing in a beautiful Northeast Minnesota setting. The resort, which is open year-round, offers several lakes for ice fishing; as well as luxurious family cabins, snowmobile trails, dog sledding and snowshoeing. Daily cabin rates are $79 to $169, as of 2010.
