Cabins in Bat Cave, North Carolina

Bat Cave is in western North Carolina near the Blue Ridge Mountains and Chimney Rock State Park. Bat Cave is home to the largest granite fissure cave in North America and houses the Indiana Bat, an endangered species. The area has many rivers and streams for fishing and kayaking. If you are planning a trip to the Bat Cave area, there is no shortage of places where you can rent a cabin for your stay.
  1. Dowling Cabins

    • Dowling Cabins has three accommodations to choose from. The oldest is Toms Falls Cottage, a two-story dwelling built around 1890 and equipped with modern conveniences. The cabin has only one bedroom, but it also offers a sofa bed and single rollaway, for a total sleeping capacity of five. Toms Falls Cottage has two full baths, a full kitchen and two fireplaces. Rocky Broad River Cabin has two bedrooms, two baths and a full kitchen. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed, for a total sleeping capacity of four. Dowling's final accommodation is The Bear's Den, located inside the Lodge at Toms Falls. The Lodge is a large two-story cabin and is the headquarters for Dowling Cabins. This suite features a log bed and large bathroom and sleeps two people. All accommodations come with linens, satellite television and Jacuzzi tubs.

    River View Cabins

    • River View has three cabins along Rocky Broad River. The Berry Patch and Sunflower cabins each have one bedroom with a futon in the living room to accommodate up to four guests. The Applehouse is a two-bedroom cabin that also has a futon, to sleep a total of six people. The Applehouse features a sunroom that overlooks the river. All cabins have hardwood floors in the living rooms and carpeting in the bedrooms. They come with full kitchens that include a microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. All three cabins have their own deck along with a charcoal barbeque grill. All units come with cable television and air conditioning.

    Creekside Mountain Camping

    • Creekside Mountain Camping offers campsites for RVs and tents, along with nine cabins on the premises. The smallest is the Hideaway, which has a double bed and sleeps two people. The Creekside Cabin sleeps up to eight people and has two bedrooms and a full kitchen. Only two cabins have a full kitchen, while others like the Mountaineer have only a microwave and a refrigerator. Only five of the cabins have inside bathrooms. Creekside has a restroom on the premises for guests to use, along with laundry facilities and a grocery store. Other amenities include a 40-foot swimming pool and clubhouse with activities for guests.
