Located in southeastern Ohio in Belmont County on State Route 148, Lake Shawn is a sporting lake offering hunting and fishing on a catch and release basis in and around the 30-acre lake. Two guest cabins are available for those also booking hunting and fishing packages. The cabins will sleep between five and seven guests, with the smaller cabin having one bedroom and the larger having two. Both cabins have all the expected amenities for comfortable living, including either a gas log fireplace or wood burning stove, and have been recently remodeled. A wood fired hot tub is available on request.

Boating, fishing and swimming can all be enjoyed at the 120-acre Lake Hope, where a swimming beach provides restrooms as well as a beach house with sundeck. Crappie and catfish, large mouth bass and bluegill fish provide good fishing, and boats may be hired including kayaks and paddleboats. Over 60 cottages are available in three different styles: Wildlife Cottages, Iron Furnace Cottages or Forest Cottages. The Iron Furnace and Forest cottages have wood burning stoves and are finished in native hardwood. All the cottages have complete kitchens and outdoor grills and fire rings.

The 700-acre Cowan Lake, situated within the 1,075 acre park, has boats and canoes for rent from the South Shore Marina, where sailing is a popular pastime. Fishing offers largemouth bass, bluegill and catfish, or for outdoor enthusiasts there are hiking and mountain biking trails. Cottage accommodation offers heated and air-conditioned, two bedroom comfort with all linens and towels supplied. There are 27 cottages in total, and pets are allowed in select cottages. Gas fireplaces and wooden decks feature in premium cottages.
